WOMEN'S FICTION/ROMANTIC COMEDY: Erin McAvoy is a lover of animals, which shows since she works at a zoo. The animals, particularly a sloth named Barry, feel like her kids. She wants kids of her own, but unfortunately, time is ticking away. She has the BRCA-1 gene, which makes her highly likely to develop breast or ovarian cancer.
TIME TRAVEL/HISTORICAL: Gwen Hywel wins the commission to weave a tapestry for the newly restored castle belonging to the MacFhearguis family.
SCI-FI: Araminta’s team has abandoned her on the enemy’s space station, forcing her to fend for herself. Without any money or any friends to count on, her only chance is to find a way off the space station and back to Proxima, but so far, her contact has not showed up, and with each passing day, she grows more desperate.
SOUTHERN GOTHIC LITERATURE: “Jackson” is a fictional retelling of the Jackson State Massacre and the events leading up to it, as seen through the eyes of a 15 year old white girl, Jody Luther.
TIME TRAVEL/HISTORICAL: Penelope (Penny) Saunders frequently travels through a time portal. Unfortunately, the last time leaves her stranded three hundred years in the past on Three Star Island for five years. She establishes herself on the edges of town, since most of the town shuns her because of her differences.
