“Antonius: Second in Command” is the story of Commander Marcus Antonius, who fought at every command of Julius Caesar. The wars were bloody, men were lost, however, Marcus earned respect. He is called to serve Julius Caesar as a legate in the Senate. Although Antonius preferred the battlefield to politics, he respectfully served the man who Rome began to turn on.
Ivy and Shane meet as homeless orphan children living in the squalid slums of Chicago in the 1880s. Ivy is eight and Shane is 10 when they form their unique bond of friendship. She trains with another female spy in the morning.
Jewel Pendray dreams of marrying for love, not by arrangement. However, she is reaching “that age” and time is running out. Jewel convinces her brother to accompany her on a trip to Edinburgh on a husband hunt. A group of aging Highlanders escorts them.
Eve Cramond, widowed wife of a colonel, is pleasantly surprised to find her husband’s captain on her doorstep in the midst of her mourning. Captain Lawrence, affectionately called Lawrie, was injured in battle and is finally well enough to bring Eve a message from her late husband before his death.
