Confound It (Dreamwalker Mystery)

Maggie
Toussaint
Genre:
Paranormal

A small town where everyone knows everyone. A meth cook found dead in her meth lab. A dream walker, aka, psychic medium who assists the local police with solving crimes. A killer on the loose, and a classic case of “Who done it?” Don’t forget the pot-bellied pigs who play very important roles in this crazy roller-coaster ride by Maggie Toussaint. “Confound It”is a very apt title to describe this frenzied story. Enter in a teenage son, a drug lord boyfriend, and myriad host of characters who each plays an important factor in this astonishing creation. The finger points to most everyone at one point or another, but who really killed the meth cook, and where is the money she left behind for her son?

Ms. Toussaint will leave a reader truly confounded in this not-so-classic murder mystery. Readers may wonder what exactly they just read. Full of key characters and a plot sure to leave a reader absolutely bewildered, “Confound It” has a very unique plot with a few shady antagonists who are a little hard to figure out. While the characters are many, they are not extremely well-developed. There seems to be a lack of expression in the story, making the characters read a bit like robots. The story is wordy, which causes it to drag, and the necessary background information for book five slows down the pace. Overall, “Confound It” is full of surprises and borders on the fantasy or paranormal genre. Curl up on a rainy day and enjoy finding an escape in the Dreamwalker Mystery series. Witty and thought provoking!
