The Impossible Bet (Fall for Me #1)

Genre:
New Adult

In order to land the lead role in an upcoming play, Jace must win a bet his friends make him: kiss a girl of their choosing on three different occasions, two of which must be initiated by the girl, and all before auditions in two week’s time.  Under normal circumstances, with his good looks and charm, Jace would have no problem. A last stipulation to the bet, however, may be his undoing — he cannot communicate with the girl in any way. When his friends choose Brinna, his quirky, pink-haired new neighbor, Jace has his work cut out for him. If he loses the bet, he will find himself playing the role of Isolde in a rather scandalous costume, a price he is not prepared to pay.

“The Impossible Bet” delivers a delightfully comedic and light romance.  Jace is a typical charming player, who will worm his way into readers’ hearts, as he pulls out all the stops in order to woo Brinna.  Although slightly naïve and childish, Brinna still holds her own against Jace.  The duel narrative throughout the novel works well and gives a humorous look into Brinna’s mind, as she wonders why this boy will not talk.  The main hiccup in this otherwise enjoyable story is the general predictability of the novel.  As a whole, the writing and fun characters will bring readers in and leave them with a smile on their face.
