Legal assistant and horror novelist, Maggie Russell, has been waking up in strange places, losing sleep and time.  When Dean Parker, the sexy private detective whose office is next door to Maggie’s, realizes she may need his help, he is shocked to discover the house Maggie just inherited from her grandmother is haunted!  Complicating matters further is Dean’s attraction to Maggie, which makes keeping to his ‘no relationships’ rule quite difficult.  Can Dean keep his feelings at bay long enough to prevent Maggie from being possessed by a manipulative ghost?

Stacy McKitrick proves ghost stories can be sexy and fun, as well as mysterious. No need to worry about sleeping with the lights on with this spicy, light and fanciful paranormal romance.  “Ghostly Interlude” is a very interesting and original story, with a nice romantic build up and tempo.  Unfortunately, the pacing elsewhere is uneven. There are large chunks of time when not much is happening, which made the story feel longer than it was. The characters are a little undeveloped as well, perhaps hampered by the large cast of characters and multiple plot threads.  Having said that, readers will still appreciate the author’s huge imagination, original storyline, and colorful characters, as well as the emotionally touching conclusion!
