Carly Dalton’s life is a mess. She’s trying to get used to a new school and make new friends, but that can be difficult. When she is saved at a truck stop, she should have known her knight in shining armor would have baggage. Asher Thompson just can’t seem to help himself, but he is good at helping other people. When he helps Carly at a truck stop, he has no idea that it is the beginning of a crazy situation. When Carly’s father is killed and her sister goes missing, both she and Asher are thrown into a dangerous game. Asher must use every ounce of strength and knowhow in order to keep both of them safe.

The interesting dynamic between these two characters from page one will have readers hooked and unable to put it down. Alicia Anthony has done well with this one! Carly and Asher are two very different characters who are thrown together in a dangerous situation. The plot moves at a fast pace, and there are a few twists and turns along the way to add interest. Some parts of the story could have done with a little more in the way of action and description, but they were few and far between. In the end, this book is a page turner and one that should be added to everyone’s e-reader this spring.
