Genre:

Kristine has loved Brodie for as long as she can remember, but Brodie only sees her as a close friend that he can confide in. When Brodie goes away on family business for several months, he returns and notices a different Kristine, one that has grown into a beautiful young woman. For the first time, Kristine notices him looking at her in a different way, and is hopeful he will finally admit how he feels. Will Brodie see Kristine for the woman she truly is, and will he finally acknowledge his love?

“An Allusive Love” is a historical friends-to-lovers story that will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride. The characters are cleverly crafted, and the reader can picture every detail of each character and their personality. Ms. Wynn has done a wonderful job in describing the dynamics and politics of the Highland families, along with the emotions the family experiences together. The reader will enjoy the realistic characters, especially Kristine, who is spunky and never gives up on what she wants. “An Allusive Love” is book 2 in the McNaughton Castle series, yet is easy to follow if you have not read the first book in the series. One may feel that the story was hurried in places, and there could have been more action and drama, but the story does not suffer for the lack of it. If you are a fan of historical romances or love a good friend-to-lovers story, “An Allusive Love” is a must read.
