Matt has lost everything - everything that ever mattered, everything he’s ever loved. But that doesn’t mean he wants anyone’s pity. Quit bringing him dinners! Quit trying to be nice! In fact, just leave him alone and stop coming around!

Katherine returns home to find shattered dishes, a dilapidated farm, and a broken soul. After all these years, the bitterness and resentment have taken over Matt’s life and left him an empty shell of a man. In a way, she doesn’t blame him. She regrets the part she played in his suffering, but she isn’t about to stand by and watch him give up.

“Love’s Bitter Harvest” takes a difficult subject and lays it out for one to consider. Real and raw, it explores a less-than-glossy love story and helps one uncover its hidden beauty. The book is well-paced, and the characters are fully developed and believable, but the lack of editing detracts heavily from the tender story. Just as the reader immerses in the flow of words, they’re abruptly interrupted by an editing error. This forces the reader to stumble over the passages and lose the message the author is trying to convey. With better editing, this book has great potential. Without it, it’s like trying to enjoy a refreshing morning jog with a ball and chain attached to one ankle. It would be wonderful to be able to appreciate it, but it’s just too weighted down.
