Paranormal

Orphaned by the Red Death, Lucy Yeoh flees to Malaysia where she meets her sexy neighbor, Li Sheng.  Sheng claims the Plague God unleashed the Red Death, and that only a circle of Chinese Zodiac spirit animals can end the carnage. Furthermore, he claims that Lucy is one of the Chosen circle.  As the Chosen of the Tiger, Sheng is charged with restoring balance to the world and discovers the ally he’s long awaited, the Dragon, is actually the Rabbit. Lucy’s Rabbit undermines Sheng’s Tiger, refusing to cooperate, despite the fact that they need to navigate a treacherous world together, where a line between duty and their hearts has been drawn. They discover they must sacrifice one or find a way to surrender to both.

“Trancing the Tiger” takes readers on an unexpected cultural journey in a slightly futuristic tale of post-pandemic life. This distinctive storyline introduces readers into the history of the Chinese Zodiac while plotting a course for Lucy to discover hidden talents in her new reality.  The vivid detail in this setting becomes as much as a part of the story as does the romance.  Steeped in martial arts, mystery, and an undeniable chemistry, readers may find their attention wandering, while Sheng and Lucy’s inner monologue, which repeatedly questions their feelings, slows down the pace of this installment.  Although, the style for this story needs some polishing to eliminate the need for readers to guess about the point of view, it does rally in creating a happily-ever-after for the heroes.
