Dating Trouble (Grover Beach Team #5)

Anna
Katmore
Genre:
Young Adult

Being replaced on the soccer team due to an injury sucks, as Susan Miller can attest. However, since her replacement is a cute, funny, smart boy she can’t stop thinking about, Susan has decided to forgive fate this once. Ethan is…perfect. So, no one should fault her for being a bit peeved when she sees fate interfere with her budding love life some more by throwing in Ethan’s irritating, antagonizing, equally as hot twin Chris.

Time goes by.  Chris flirts, Ethan seems to be dating her, but maybe not, and Susan is really, really confused. One thing’s for sure - her life is definitely not boring.

Wow! A warm concoction of high-school sweetness, laughter, friendship and love coming right up! Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the touch of mystery, a bit of angst (because, teenagers!) and a twist or two, and Anna Katmore obliges in the best possible way.

Susan immediately stands out as an approachable, yet unique character, surprisingly managing to be both a cute nerd and a not unpopular athlete. The most interesting and delicious are, of course, Susan’s interactions with the Donovan twins. The author should be commended for escaping the trap of the almost-formulaic love triangle, and also fleshing out the characters of both Ethan and Chris, making them both appealing, yet very different. These are only some of the things that makes this book a good choice for fans of YA. Highly recommended!
