Perilous Gambit: A Mike Stoneman Thriller

Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Senator Harlan Bushfield and his wife are driving home from a political event when a flat tire puts them on the side of the road. A tow-truck driver then kidnaps and murders the Senator. This high-priority case has no leads, except for a picture that is distributed to all police departments in hopes that something will arise. Mike Stoneman and his partner Jason are on vacation, heading to Vegas for Jason’s wedding. There they will meet Jason’s future brother-in-law who is a drag entertainer and happens to have a connection to the senator. This makes him a target for those trying to cover up the meeting with the senator. Good thing, Jason and Mike are in town to help solve the case.

What do you get when you have murders, mobsters, drag queens, and a wedding?—One page-turning good time! While the scenes do have rough transitions and bounce around between a plethora of random characters, this book will still hook readers. There is a clear good guy vs. bad guy plot, leaving no question who the bad guys are; it’s just a matter of finding them and linking them to the murders. One of the best aspects of this book is the highlight of the abuses suffered by the LGBTQ community and how important it is to respect and accept this community. Readers will love the correlation with real-life statistics in this fictional story. This book can be read as a standalone but it may help readers to read the first books to fully get into the minds of the characters.
