As if witnessing a police shooting between a mentally incapacitated man and the two police officers accompanying them for a work assignment is not enough, Grace Vaccaro and her co-worker, Annie, find themselves thrown deep into a case where one of their mentally-ill patients, Laurel, is marked as the prime suspect for a murder. Talk of flying from a hot pot into the fire!

This story revolves around a WITSEC house being remodeled in Atlanta. Minnie Chance and her 60-something friend Seamus James are planning to run it for witnesses who need a safe haven, but they discover a tunnel underneath, with a lot of blood in one area. Later, they find a dead body, and police make an arrest, but Minnie believes that they have arrested the wrong person.

Max Grant is the lead of cybersecurity at a global security company, who seems to be living the life any man would dream of with a beautiful woman, Cress Taylor. She has always been the woman for Max to pine over; however, behind the picture perfect life is a former MI6 operative with a traumatic past.
