Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Harper Sloan and FBI agent Colton Brady have some turbulent history between them. It’s recent history, but the ending was not what either expected. Colton’s deception shattered Harper’s hard-won trust and even though she refuses to talk to him, he’s not given up on winning her back. When Harper’s hellish past comes knocking at her door though, she must set aside her feelings and go to the one man who came close to breaking down her walls. The situation is no longer about her nor even about them, it’s about an innocent 11-year-old girl.

Sexual tension galore makes this one a steamy, cheek-flushing, fan-fluttering read. There are plenty of characters revolving around an interesting premise; however, the large cast leans toward reader bewilderment in keeping them straight. As a second story in the series it falls far short in the recap department. At times there is mention of past events that could confuse a new reader and at other times there is a plethora of back story shoehorned in, which causes an awkward bottleneck in the pace. In addition, the story suffers from a lack of in-depth character development, erratic behavior, improbable plot, and imprudent choices. Another intense round of editing is recommended to polish this complex character-driven romantic suspense until its shine rivals the stars.
