Wren has recently separated from her cheating husband and is working to rebuild her life. After she wakes up one morning realizing she has been assaulted but not remembering a thing, she tries to handle things on her own by denying it happened. When someone she knows is killed and Wren is assaulted again, she knows she must do something now. There is a serial killer on the loose who has honed in on Wren. She tries to maintain some sense of normalcy as she works and even goes on a business trip across the country. The killer continues to torment her as she starts to lean on her soon-to-be ex-husband and her boss-turned-friend.

This is the second installment of the Deadly Sins series. This book has a completely different storyline and characters, so the reader does not feel as if they have missed anything by not reading the first book. It does contains scenes of murder and sexual assault, so readers beware of possible triggers. While they are not described in detail, the aftermath of both is graphic. Some of the topics may be disturbing and unsettling to some readers, but they add to the overall story. The descriptions make the reader feel as if they are there watching things unfold as Wren sees it. This is a well-written thriller that keeps the reader guessing until the end!
