Prim and Proper Fate (Twisted Fate Series Book 2)

Fates are the magical beings that protect mankind, and Prim is one who has been around the block a few times.  So many times, in fact, that it’s starting to take a toll on her mental state.  As such she has sequestered herself on an island, protected from danger and pain.  Brandon is a Light One Shifter who has his own issues with the Fates.  Fates and Shifters never supposed to mate but when Brandon and Prim meet they are inexplicably drawn to each other.  As they are both pushed out of their comfort zones in order to help mankind, they must face their internal demons or be doomed to live their lives forever alone.

The world building in this series is phenomenal! Ms. Lund has built a fascinating world where good versus evil is warring in the background and humans have no idea.  Out of the cultural rules of this world there is a natural breeding ground for extremely interesting internal and external conflicts.  The characters were distinct, lively, and really fun to read.

The biggest problem with this story is that until about chapter six the background information to get the reader up to speed from book one is written in a telling, rather than showing way.  Because of this, the information is delivered in a very stilted manner.  After chapter six, the story really kicks in and it’s a complete page turning adventure!
