Not Quite Dead (NightHunter #1)

Stephanie
Rowe
Genre:
Paranormal

After decades of blissful silence, Jordyn Leahy is once again being stalked by a ruthless, dark entity that haunts her sleep and demands her soul.  At the same time, her dear friend, Tristan is missing.  He has saved her from eternal death so many times that Jordyn knows she could never live with herself if she doesn’t find him.   Her search takes her home - the one place she never thought she would return.  And the one man she doesn’t know if she can resist - Eric.

Eric knows something is terribly wrong with his brother, Tristan.  He hasn’t been seen or heard from in weeks.   Searching alone is the only way he knows he can work - until Jordyn enters the chase and he loses his heart.  The problem is he is not the only one after her soul and his brother is somehow intimately involved in the outcome.

When reading “Not Quite Dead” one thing is for sure, Ms. Rowe knows how to tell a story!   The tension and suspense hits the moment the first page is read and never slows down until the cover is closed! However, there are many small but noticeable inconsistencies in the characters and their development.  The plethora of conjunctions (especially the word “and”) may also be distracting for some and for those reading Ms. Rowe for the first time, there are many unanswered topics alluded to but not explained.  For readers who are familiar with previous books, however, or those who just like a wild afternoon ride, this one will most assuredly be high on the list of must-haves!
