A Magical Highland Solstice

HISTORICAL/TIME TRAVEL:  Eve Brannigan from year 2016 and Cormac Murray from 1207 are destined by the magic of the Fae to be together.  As the vale of time is bent to bring the two together during the magical time of Winter Solstice, they must learn to open their lonely hearts and trust, or resign to a life destined to forever be alone.

Cormac, laird of Castle Creag, is the perfect male lead in this Celtic whirlwind tale of adventure, romance, and magic.  His stubborn nature and Scottish brogue make for the perfect combination in sweeping the reader back to medieval Scotland, and making the reader's heart swoon with the dream of meeting him for themselves. Eve is kind and beautiful, the perfect Celtic princess for this holiday fairy tale, but perhaps a bit too perfect.  As such, the story lacks slightly in buildup of suspense, and the conflicts that arose were resolved rather quickly.  She seems to accept her plight a little more quickly than would be believable.

The story does lend incredibly well in bringing to life the stark differences between the cultural and time gap differences of Eve’s present day and Murray’s medieval Scotland.  One can almost feel the chill of the stone walls in the castle, smell the essence of pine boughs and oven hearth bread, and hear the merry music playing, as the characters prepare for their beloved Solstice celebration.

All in all, this is a wonderful holiday read which will light up the spirit of the season, and warm the heart!
