In Mage We Trust (Of Mystics and Mayhem Book One)

SUSPENSE/THRILLER:  Johnna wants her family back. When a demon gives her part of his soul to save her, she finds that she has magic she never anticipated. When a killing spree begins, her instincts go into overdrive and she soon finds herself attracted to the demon. Niki has a job to do, a rogue mage to catch and Johnna to keep safe. He finds that a little difficult when all he can think about is taking her in his arms and kissing her. Their journey takes a deadly turn and they find themselves having to trust one another if they hope to stay alive long enough to take out the killer. Will they give into their feelings and live to get their happily ever after?

Heidi Vandalingham has created some very fascinating characters and thrown them into an action-packed story that may well have pages turning on their own. Twists and turns abound, heads will be spinning while reading this book. There is an exciting plot with two heroes that readers will find themselves relating to in certain ways while enjoying the fantasy that is paranormal romance. Some aspects may slow down slightly but they are few and far between. Some places could have used more description to better picture the scene. All in all this is an excellent start to the series and it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here. "In Mage We Trust" is definitely one to add to the e-reader to deal with those post-Christmas blues.
