Schae Summers woke up in a hospital covered in scars and no memory. Given a name, a date of birth, and money to live on, Schae eventually went out into the world no closer to knowing who she was, where she came from, or what happened to her. Putting her night terrors into a book brings her success as an author, but a new book idea sets her on the path to recovering her memory and Darek Banakar intends to make sure she fulfills her destiny.

Who doesn’t love a good riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma? While the premise of this fantasy tale isn’t new, the amnesia combined with the scars does fascinate and captivate all while making the reader work for the answers. Unfortunately, the unusual writing style tends to hinder forward progress rather than assist and much of the initial curiosity and excited anticipation falls to the wayside as one struggles through the repetitive mire of “likes” and “I means” as well as a forest of abbreviated sentences. In addition, parceling out massive amounts of clues with too little concrete information tends to frustrate rather than intrigue as do conversations that spin endlessly in place. There are also editing issues and coarse language for those who may object to such. Supplemental editing and balancing the scales between what’s hidden and what’s revealed would make this a fantastic ride to last centuries.
