This book is an exciting read with diverse, well-written characters. The pace is even although there are some aspects that are difficult to follow because the story is told in various points of view. When the characters were reunited, it felt as though they got together relatively quickly which made it feel rushed. All in all, this book has a lot of action and will lead readers to read the other books in this series. Carol Van Natta has created a series set in a futuristic setting and takes the reader right into the middle of it. This is one of those books that will cause readers to lose track of time and find themselves reading the book in one sitting!
