PARANORMAL:  Nathan Delano is a shifter, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to live as normal a life as he can as a police officer.  When he comes across a crime scene where a girl is murdered and her friend is found alive, he finds himself becoming personally involved.  Violet is sixteen, and when social services has a hard time placing her because of her age, Nathan opens up his home to her.  Although Violet has been traumatized by the death of her friend, she tries to go on with her life and even enrolls in college.  While she is there, she is haunted by the memory of a strange tattoo on one of the attackers.  Although she is trying to retain some semblance of normal life, she becomes caught up in a series of events which make her wonder if things will ever be normal again.

This is a unique story about shifters!  It is a little slow in the beginning, and instead of being bogged down with useless background information, there are just certain scenes that drag on.  However, the scenes with the characters after they shift are creative and very descriptive.  The different sub-plots running throughout the book add to rather than detract from the main story.  The book ends abruptly, unfortunately, and the reader is left wondering what happens to the main character.  The loose ends at the end will likely unsettle the reader.  Hopefully, the story will pick up where this one left off  in the next book.  This book is a great introduction to these characters, and readers will look forward to the next installment.
