Alexis Hightower has been burned too many times to indulge in fantasies of love and trust. She is perfectly happy with her work as a nurse and her quiet life with her best friend, until the day Oliver Honeycutt, lead singer of her favorite band, walks into her life. Oliver is getting sick of playing the games. When tragedy strikes not only his band, but his family, he finds himself stuck in Georgia. The more time he spends with Alexis, the harder he falls for her. As Oliver makes plans for their future together, will Alexis be able to put the past behind her and take a shot at love?

Ms. Kirby tells the classic tale of "normal girl next door meets famous Hollywood playboy, and love ensues". At times the reader may grow frustrated by the frequent lack of communication between the main characters. Though some may be discouraged by this well-known plot, it is definitely worth the read. Ms. Kirby does a wonderful job of delivering quick, witty dialogue and creating a well-rounded cast of characters that leaves the door open for future reads. This is a great story of friends and family banding together in times of devastation, and finding love in the most unlikely of places.
