Genre:
Mystery

Gemma has left the corporate world behind to realize her dream of owning her own teashop in Oxfordshire, England.  Her parents think she has lost her mind and the local citizens haven’t quite made theirs up yet.  Things are going well until an American tourist is murdered with a scone right at the shop’s doorstep.  To make matters worse, the detective in charge of the case is her old college love, Devlin O’Connor.  Gemma’s tearoom becomes a crime scene and her business is about to go bust.  She might as well use her intimate knowledge of the area to do a little investigating of her own – and so the trouble begins.

One doesn’t have to be a fan of mysteries to love this book! The author’s deft story telling makes this novel a page turner and keeps the reader guessing until the end.  The main character, Gemma, narrates this tale beautifully with a wry sense of humor that evokes a chuckle or two from the reader.   The quirky cast of characters is charming without being one dimensional. Best of all, Ms. Hanna pays homage to the reader’s intelligence with a well thought-out and executed plot.  With just the right amount of suspense and enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing, “A Scone to Die For” is an original story that is good to the very last morsel!
