Thanksgiving is right around the bend, and the small town of Pecan Bayou, Texas coming down with the flu. Unsurprisingly, even while fighting the virus Betsy Livingston finds herself wrapped up in a mystery when the newspaper office goes up in flames and Rocky, the editor, turns up missing. On top of this mystery, Betsys new husband Leo has been asked to fill in as the weatherman until Hurricane Hal recovers from the flu, and her boys are having trouble adjusting to the bigger family. Can the Happy Hinter solve the mystery and keep her new family together?

A fun new mystery has arrived as the fifth book in the Pecan Bayou Mystery Series. Regardless of whether the reader has read the previous books, this is a great read. The plot is smooth and the characters develop well. The truth behind the newspaper office fire is slowly uncovered leaving the reader guessing until the last moment. The drama at home, also gives the story some depth as it is not just a story of a lone detective only on the hunt but an amateur detective and mother balancing life. Overall, an excellent installment in the series - mystery lovers, take note!
