The Lyon’s Puzzle

Mrs. Dove-Lyon certainly has made an astounding match when she arranges a marriage between Montague Bassage and widow Mrs. Adriana Roberts. Both have been dealt a whirlwind of trauma and heartache to last several lifetimes, with broken hearts, failed relationships, and scarred reputations.

This story of two young people making “An Unwitting Alliance” is set in London in the year 1821. Cassandra Vail, a lovely yet stubborn ingénue, attends Lady Kellen’s ball in the hopes of winning a husband before her parents are able to carry through with their obnoxious intentions of matching her to a wealthy bachelor of their choosing.

Grace Monfort is stunningly beautiful and idealistically innocent. Just before her debut into society, her father and brother disgrace the family by stealing.
