VIKING:  Viking warrior Alrik has set his eyes on Selia and is determined to take her to his home in Norway, whether as his slave or as his bride. Given little choice Selias father agree to marry her to Alrik to save her from a life as a slave. Forced out of her homeland of Ireland and thrust into a brutal new world and forced to learn a new culture and language, Selia tries to adjust to her new life and her relationship with the violent and brutal, yet gorgeous viking warrior that is now her husband. Despite their violent beginning Selia cannot deny her attraction to Alfrik and the feelings she quickly develops for him.

Readers will be drawn in right from the start and unable to peel themselves away from Selias story. The writing is fast-paced and flows beautifully with great depth and character development. Fans of historical romance will appreciate the beautifully written and well-researched portrayal of the ninth-century Viking world. Ms. Riley has written a wonderful start to a promising new series. Readers be warned: though it may be an accurate portrayal of the time and culture of the Vikings, violence plays a major role throughout this read, and may make this a difficult read for some. If not for this fact, this would be a definite five star read.
