The Lady of The Forest (Knights of Destiny #1)

Barbara
Bettis
Genre:
Historical

Following the death of her husband, Lady Katherine fakes her own demise in order to escape the new master of Stonehill. After escaping into the forest, she ambushes Lord Henry of Chauvere, who turns out to be the brother of her childhood friend. When the King orders Katherine to marry the new master of Stonehill, Henry vows to assist her. Henry has decided that Katherine is the woman for him and he will do anything to prevent her marriage. When they have to work together, their feelings for one another become deeper and they'll do anything to be together.

Barbara Bettis has created a strong female heroine in Lady Katherine; she's fierce and not afraid to fight for her people. The action starts on page one and the pace keeps up until the end. For historical fiction, this book was well researched and the dialogue is well written and accurate. Several punctuation and grammar errors were found, however this is the only issue with the book. Overall, "The Lady of the Forest" is an enjoyable read with a lot of passion between Katherine and Henry. The first in the Knights of Destiny series, readers will be clamoring for the next installment!
