When her parents die, Hadley Hampton is made a ward of the Duke of Hardwick. The duke is estranged from his son, Sebastian, who, nonetheless, continues to write to his father. Hadley reads these letters for the duke, and as time goes by, she begins to fall in love with the duke’s son. When Hardwick dies, Sebastian returns to take over as duke. He doesn’t expect to find a woman taking care of his father’s affairs and is immediately on guard about the beautiful woman. The more time they spend together, however, the more his feelings grow. But he holds a secret he believes means he should never find happiness. Hadley deserves more than the train wreck that he is. Will they find happiness, or will his past come back to haunt them?

From the first page, “Duke of Honor” serves up an amazing historical romance which has a wonderful plot and two very well developed characters. There is so much tension between them that throughout the book, readers will be aching for them to realize their feelings and get together. The love scenes are sizzling, and there will be a lot of heat under the collars. Do not let this one pass by, especially for readers who love historical romance. “Duke of Honor” easily stands alone, but readers for whom this is the first book they’ve delved into of the “Dukes of Distinction” series, be prepared to go back and read the rest of the books. This is an amazing book and one that should be added to everyone’s reading list.
