Paige Herbert arrives back in her hometown of New Orleans to find her fiancé cheating on her. What else can she do but seek shelter at her parent’s home, something she swore she’d never do. While out running, Paige finds an abandoned, abused dog and wants to adopt her, leading her to the shelter where she meets Dash, hot ex-con trying to make the best out of what his life has turned into. When Paige asks Dash to help her train her new rescue pit bull, Dash is reluctant because he knows nothing can come of his attraction to Paige. They’re from two different worlds. Daughter of a judge and an ex-con? Right. But when two people are meant to be, love will find a way.

“Rescue Me” is an absolutely delightful, heartwarming story. Paige is a quirky, spunky, completely entertaining heroine, who cares nothing for convention or Dash’s criminal past. She sees the man he is underneath his past mistakes. Dash will tug at the reader’s heartstrings because he knows he made a mistake and is trying to make up for it, but people’s prejudice against him simply because he’s an ex-con is sad. Pumpkin the rescue pit bull is a hoot! The author’s love for the breed comes through loud and clear, as does her disdain for the stereotyping of the breed. The relationship between Dash and Paige will bring the warm-fuzzies, as both step out of their comfort zones to give it a chance, and boy is their chemistry sizzling. A page turner from start to finish, the reader will be reluctant to put it down!
