Sandra Kelly is the kind of person everyone loves to hate – she will do whatever it takes to get whatever she wants. That’s a quality that can be very helpful in her job as a local news reporter, but it also has a few downsides. One of them is that she never knows when to quit. And she’s certainly not about to learn it now, not when she has to compete against Cooper Hall—of all people—for the upcoming Townsperson of the Year contest. Cooper and Sandra used to play pranks on each other all the time, and now that they both want the same thing, their prank war is back in full swing. Nothing goes too far for two people who would do whatever it takes to get what they desire. Until it turns out that what they really desire, is each other…

Sometimes hilarious, sometimes a little strange, this book is certainly a humorous romp from start to finish that has awkward moments but also heart-warming, sweet moments. Sandra’s personality is a bit standoff-ish at first, but as the reader gets to know her and warm up to her, she’s really a heartfelt, warm person underneath. Cooper, on the other hand, is fun to read about from the start, with a good sense of humor and a keen ability to come up with clever, original ideas.
