Livie Dunn has been in love with her childhood friend Kyle Huang since they were in school. But he broke her heart by marrying the one girl she hated. She moved to Scotland and opened a bookstore. Livie finds it difficult to cope when Kyle declares his love for her. He hurt her so badly she's not sure if she can forgive and forget. Kyle knows he messed up. Now he must work hard to convince Livie that he loves her and wants to make a life with her. Will he be able to convince her that she's the only woman in the world for him? Or has his past mistake ruined the one chance he had of happiness?

“Fictional-ish” is a feel-good, romantic comedy that not only has some emotional turmoil but has the warm and fuzzy feelings that come with such a novel. Mia and Kyle are adorable characters who are meant to be together. The story is told from the perspective of both the hero and the heroine. Both told from a first-person point of view. Throughout the novel, readers will wish for them to come to their senses and admit that they should be together, but that desire is plagued with interference from a variety of sources. There are loveable characters and characters readers will love to hate. A clichéd storyline only takes a little away from this book, but otherwise it's a great read. Several laugh out loud moments make this book a cheery read. Definitely one to take on vacation or for reading on a rainy night under a blanket with a nice cup of tea.
