Jared Worrell, a Marine who’s served four tours has received a call that he’s needed back in Ten Sleep, Wyoming to tend to his ailing mother. When he was old enough to leave home and become a Marine, he did and never looked back. His father has passed and now his mother's cancer has returned, with her bad days seeming to outweigh the good. Lucy Thomas, a local photographer has become a great friend to Claudia and is often more her caretaker. Jared has a talent with chocolate, so his mom and Lucy encourage him to make his delicious confections available for others to buy and enjoy. Claudia is proud of her son and has hand-picked Lucy for him; they have an immediate connection, but now the rest has to fall into place.

Emotions ride high on many different levels in “Chocolate Cowboy.” The tender story between mother and son is filled with compassion and the first true love for a rough, tough Marine will hit a reader hard. The super-steamy love scenes almost take over the entire story, however their passion is evenly weighted by love and the plot holds steady throughout. The characters draw readers in and will leave many wanting for more of their story long after the last page. Grab a box of tissue - this one will show what hot desire feels like,  and walk readers hand-in-hand through the loss of a parent to a wicked illness. Kudos Ms. Lynn, you turned a tough Marine into a very compassionate chocolatier!
