WESTERN:  Chase Ryan has been working hard on his Kentucky ranch and wants a night out for a little break.  A new face in town enters the bar and he cannot take his eyes off her. Samantha Cross is looking for a distraction from her thirtieth birthday and a handsome cowboy is exactly what she has in mind. She inherited a ranch and has been planning a Christmas tree farm and a Christmas shop downtown. The two spark an immediately hot impression on each other and make a quick exit from the bar to a local motel. After a  sizzling, steamy night, Sam makes a quiet getaway. Chase is not happy about her exit - he did not even get her phone number or last name. What’s worse, he cannot get her out of his head!  Imagine his surprise when his mother insists he deliver a homemade pie to the new neighbor and Samantha is the one to open the door.

This short and sweet, steamy love story is a quick read and a great holiday treat. Chase isn’t looking for love, but when it happens to show up next door there is no escaping! The characters are warm and friendly and show true compassion throughout the story. The small-town feel and hard-working personalities are an immediate draw. The rodeo circuit and entrepreneurial spirit are added bonuses to this story. The portrayal of hurt and loss while moving forward is expressed with compassion and understanding. This is the second in a series, however stands alone perfectly.  Truly a scrumptious read for a lazy afternoon!
