A Change of Plans

NEW ADULT:  Once upon a time, on a boat far, far away there was a woman looking for some uncomplicated fun on a cruise. Lyn had been burned badly by her cheating fiancé. Not only did he die on her, he did it scandalously, in the company of his mistress. Lyn wants nothing more of men-not even the handsome prince-like surgeon Braedon. He tempts her, but she stays strong...until the pirates come and they end up stranded on an island. All the goals, dreams and rules narrow down to just one: survive.

Ms. Weaver pens an outstanding, epic tale of life, loss and love! Fans of “On the Island” by Tracey Garvis-Graves should look no further. “A Change of Plans” leads us through several years of Lyn’s life, and is aptly divided into three parts that could be named The Cruise, The Island and The After. The atmosphere shifts deftly, seamlessly, from colorful parties and entertainment to the harsh reality of surviving on a deserted island and then finally back to the challenges of civilization and loss. Readers are also able to experience the characters changing and growing, by necessity, with their circumstances.

Which brings up the extraordinary nature of the characterization. There are truly no words to describe how solid and endearing Lyn and Braedon are, with all their human weaknesses and strengths. Their love grips the reader and doesn’t let go for an instant! It’s constantly evolving, changing, as is the story in general, making the reader incapable of putting the book down. Ms. Weaver has created magic!
