Since the death of her mother, Annabelle Madison is determined to become a dancer and independent of her daddy's money. But when her old high-school crush reappears it begins a test of her strength and resistance.  Army Ranger Sergeant Evan O'Riley is working for the District Attorney to protect his daughter, but what truly needs protection is his heart from Annabelle. Rekindling his love for her and trying to protect her has made this job more difficult than he imagined, yet saving her life may be the one act of his love that makes it all worth the risk.

This book is a treat to read - balancing elements of suspense and action with a thrilling pace. Annabelle and Evan make an awesome couple and the tension from their old crush that still lingers will have the reader falling head over heels. Anna is an endearing character, showing courage and boldness that is often matched by Evan's strong persona. Disappointingly though, her relationship with her father and sister stays much in the background, rather than being used to add depth to the story and providing an enriched view of the family dynamics. The kindness she shows her dance class students makes her personality shine, and the tempting romance that takes hold early on keeps the reader connected page after page.
