Leader of Titans

Kathryn Le Veque
Narrator: Brian Gill

HISTORICAL:  Constantine le Brecque is the bastard son of King Henry V. Raised in secret to protect him from the king’s enemies, he’s always known his royal blood is more curse than blessing. He is known as the pirate “Leader of Titans,” and he’s quite the womanizer. Lady Greggoria de Moyan is a woman sent by her brother to trick Constantine into falling for his trap in exchange for the quiet life she’d always desired. She pretends to be a married widow with a treasure in need of transport. An easy enough job so long as she doesn’t fall in love with him.

Kathryn Le Veque knows how to create luscious descriptions and sensual scenes while still leaving plenty to the imagination. Constantine is the kind of hero who truly grows into his own as the story progresses. The heroine of the story, Lady Greggoria, especially shines in this book as she grapples with the depth of her actions against Constantine throughout the book. Ms. Le Veque knows how to build the tension, and how to turn pages!

Narrator Brian Gill gives a solid performance. He has a great voice to listen to, and his accents are on point for the region. There were a few moments where the narration seemed a bit fast or lacked the right level of emotion for the more romantic scenes, however, and that took away from the story some. During the action scenes is where Mr. Gill’s performance shines the most. With his voice, he’s able to heighten the danger the characters are placed in, absorbing the listener into the scene.

This is a great listen for lovers of historical romance!
