Major Lord Felix Knight is a spy for the army and loyal to the crown, who has recovered from being a prisoner of war. He thrives on danger and adventure and has no room in his life for romance like his brothers. Knight meets Catalina, the daughter of the general for Spain, who has been exposed to military life and is a spy for her father. Knight and Catalina are forced to work together to find the spy in her household. Catalina surprises Knight with her spy capabilities, and the sparks soon fly between the two. Can they discover the traitor before it’s too late?
“Dark of Knight” is an enjoyable historical romance filled with suspense, intrigue, mystery, violence, romance, and many twists that will keep the reader guessing until the very end! Elizabeth Johns takes one on an adventure and describes the history, war, and background well, and the reader will be able to clearly picture the scenes as if one were there. The characters are engaging and enjoyable and will have the reader laughing and crying. One will enjoy the chemistry and bickering between Knight and Catalina as they work together to solve the mystery of who the spy is before it is too late. This is book 4 in the Gentlemen of Knights series and can be read as a standalone, although it may be more enjoyable if one reads the previous books in the series. Exciting and unputdownable from the get-go!
