Camryn Covic is used to her boisterous Serbian family. No, really, she is. It’s just that she doesn’t want to show up to her sister’s wedding without the boyfriend she’s been telling everyone about. Unfortunately, he’s in the past now. So is her job and apartment. (Not her best day). Enter the solution: her brother’s friend, the way-too-handsome womanizer Troy Lansky.
Troy isn’t too keen on the plan, but he owes a lot to Camryn for all she did for him when he was a child. After all, what’s the worst that can happen?
Why, they could fall in love.
Camryn and Troy make for a wonderful couple. They are both quite likable: Camryn with her steadfast love for her family and her strength in not buckling under the pressure, and Troy with his vulnerable heart hidden under the playboy façade, as well as the heartwarming way he woos Camryn. Even if he doesn’t really look at it that way. Camryn’s family is a riot, and it’s quite clear that they are a close-knit group. On the other hand, it also shows how easy it is for misunderstandings to influence even the closest familial relationships. The only fault with the book lies with the editing. While not something that would bother most people, to a native Serbian speaker, there were many jarring irregularities with the language. All in all, though, it’s a romantic romp with lots of laugh out loud moments!
