Is Social Media a Social Serial Killer?

With Valentine's day fast approaching I was inspired to watch my old favorite chick flicks with their infinite plots of girl meets boy, girl gets heartbroken by boy, boy realizes he's been a moron and wins girl back after she has, of course, had a complete breakdown and a man-hating session with her bff's including alcoholic libations and/or dessert.

A few films later, I began to wonder whether the younger generation, who have so wholly embraced the internet, have become completely taken over by it - with all of the dating sites, chat rooms and (let's face it) stalking prey capabilities.  Are the old-fashioned methods of going out and meeting at a bar or café a thing of the past?
