Today, everything must move in a blur. Downloads can’t be fast, they need to be instantaneous. Calling friends on the cell takes too long and is so yesterday. Just text them. If they care, they’ll text back. If it can’t be squeezed into a tweet, it isn’t worth sharing. And don’t get me started on Tik-Tok. The average view is 13 seconds! Really?
I've been writing as a hobby since 2003, and professionally since 2005. In that time, I've garnered a fair number of reviews for the books I've written. I used to read many of them, usually as I peeked through my fingers and swallowed back the dread closing up my throat—pretty much how I watch horror films.
I’ve long been a big fan of using parentheses, those curved symbols used to separate additional information that’s not necessarily relevant to the immediate sentence’s point, but still relevant to the overall point. A few teachers in my life noticed this, and tried to dissuade me, but I’m unrepentant, and unmoved.
With famous books we’ve come to love, it’s almost like they were set in stone, unchanged from when the writer typed them up. However, this isn’t true. Every book, no matter how successful, went through many edits and changes. Occasionally, the public gets to see these original versions, which in some cases, were very different. Following is a list of a few of the most notable examples.
As the author of The Witches of Vegas series, I write this series to entertain young adults who like witches, vampires, stage magic, and fantasy. However, it's not written just for the young adults of today, I am writing for the ones who haven’t even been born yet.
