All I Want For Christmas

Being so close to the end of the year and with the holiday season approaching, I tend to look for gifts that make people think they are awesome or scratch their heads wondering what I was thinking... This year is the same as far as gifts go, but with the unknown, the crazy, and the way life is now, there are differences. Yes, we can all give the gift of masks displaying our favorite Disney characters, favorite novel characters, or just plain old humorous ones. Masks are the gifts that keep on giving and they serve a double purpose. Of course, they are intended to help save lives, but they mean we guys don’t have to shave, and the ladies save money on lipsticks and gloss. So, it’s a win-win gift for everyone.
I did a little thinking—I know, it can be scary—but I figured that what I want for Christmas is a new start to a new year without any drama or crazy in it.
As we end this year and look ahead, I am positive everyone can agree that 2020 was a struggle. No matter what your take on things, we all discovered that what began as a normal year, became a tsunami of chaos. I won’t talk about politics because something else we re-learned this year was people are firmly divided, so it doesn’t do any good to talk about this topic. It’s emotional and very intense. We all need to work on coming together instead of arguing.
With all the distractions, I’m sure the New Year’s Resolutions you made last January didn’t get completed. I know mine didn’t. But, as we look back, maybe we can use hindsight to get a better view as to what we should all want for Christmas and the New Year this year.
There certainly were some unexpected and astonishing events. Prince Harry and Megan Markle left the Royal family. To most people over here, this didn’t really mean a lot, but across the pond it was a drastic and unheard-of upheaval in Royal traditions. I wish them well and it’ll make fun TV to watch “The Prince and Me” play out in real time.
