Rising Star Spotlight: Jennifer Theriot

 I LOVE your by-line, "Grownup romance from the other side of 30"!  Explain the reason for choosing it.
First off, I'm so glad you like it -thanks so much! I write romance with main characters over the age of thirty, so I wanted to market my books to women my age..women who are tipping the scales to the right side of 30 - hence the tagline ;)
You are CFO of a real estate firm during the day.  What prompted you to start writing books?
I'm an avid romance reader and back when “Fifty Shades of Grey” came out, I got to thinking that there weren't a lot of romance reads out about women my age. Women over thirty are still sexy. We have active sex lives and committed relationships, or are hoping for a second chance at love, so why not write about it? Two of my girlfriends and I were at dinner one night  (all of us are romance readers) and we got to talking. They dared me to write a romance book and I took the dare! Seven books later, here I am.
Have you always wanted to write? 
As a kid, I wrote poetry. I won several contests, but that's about it. Didn't entertain writing a book until that fateful night when I took the dare.  Halloween night, 2012, I wrote the first words to my first book, “Out of the Box Awakening”.
