SUSPENSE/THRILLER:  Kaya Lowen is the wealthy heir to a billion-dollar company. Although she longs for a normal life, it is nearly impossible for her to achieve. Her corrupt father keeps an eye on her at all times, even though he has no desire to build a real father-daughter relationship with her. Her bodyguard, Oliver, isn’t about to lose sight of her either. Kaya and Oliver develop a close bond that eventually turns to love, until a chance encounter with a mysterious stranger changes everything.  Kayla's world falls apart when she uncovers a dark family secret, and she must choose between her heart and head.

Kaya is having a pretty tough time. She is accompanied by bodyguards everywhere and  not allowed to leave her home. She is like a modern-day Rapunzel, and readers will easily feel sympathetic toward her. Despite being kept under such close guard most of the time, she is mature and levelheaded.  The love triangle does not rise above the ‘okay’ level, though. Luke and Kaya have some real chemistry, but unfortunately, that turns into insta-love. Oliver obviously cares for Kaya but he isn't much different from her father, although the two share a long history which makes their relationship more believable. The suspense is nail biting, and the characters are decent. The love interests are quite stereotypical, but the strong main character makes up for that.
