Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Christie Ryan has it all: a fiancé, a great job and a wonderful home. However, there are cracks that slowly start to make an appearance. Her fiancé, Derek, is slowly becoming more irritated with Christie’s job as a makeup artist. When they get ready to leave on holiday, Christie gets the news that her grandma Dorothy has died and despite Derek’s objections, she decides to pay her final respects. Christie's Gran has left her a cottage in River’s End — filled with secrets, lies and lost love. Christie is determined to seek the truth, and in doing so  her investigation collides with handsome neighbor Martin Blake. She soon discovers that 50-year-old heartbreak is still very much a part of River’s End.

Be prepared to feel a wide-range of emotions! "The Stationmaster's Cottage" follows two love stories, and as a result, the story lines jump back and forth quite often. Christie is a wonderful main character and really develops throughout the story.  Not only is she figuring out a 50- year-old love story, she is working out her own as well. Derek may be her fiancé but his true colors show and Christie questions their future. Martin may be a stranger, but he cares for her well-being. Despite the slow start, the story becomes quite the page-turner. The book ends well and does not have a cliffhanger but there are a couple questions left unanswered. The author manages to create deep emotion with her characters and tugs on the reader’s heartstrings.
