Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

For a young Charlie Gomez, life is about fear and hiding in the shadows. After the death of her mother, she’s sought out by both sides of a family she didn’t know existed. One leads to danger and corruption, the other leads to a path of discovery about who she is. With fractured family ties scratching at her future, she joins forces with Jaxon. Together, they head straight into the gaping mouth of danger.

Look out Agatha Christie, there’s a new kid on the block! The intrigue and drawing power of “Family Illusions” makes a reader disregard everything but maybe a fire in the house. The character development, scene description, writing voice and defined plot have a corkscrew effect. It keeps twisting until all the answers are revealed, yet nothing is as it seems. Initially, Jaxon steps over the domineering and caustic mark. Chemistry blooms between Charlie and Jaxon. After a little soul searching, they fall in love, but the transition is a little too quick and not earned. Lies and deceit work to glue this story together page by page, and Charlie’s character has enough grit to keep anticipation in high gear. “Family Illusions” is the first book in the “Hidden Danger” series, and readers can look forward to more intrigue from this new voice.

A highly recommended mystery!
