Noelle was raised a socialite, but she wanted to be more than an air-headed trophy wife. She went to medical school and became a doctor. Her parents didn't like that. They also take issue with her wanting nothing to do with their lifestyle, nor aspiring to the spotlight, at all. Attending yet another fundraiser for her Senator father, Noelle spots a man who is just what she needs to break out of the mold even more. Kane Delaney is an undercover FBI agent with no intention of having a one-night stand until Noelle caught his eye. Being on a case left him with little choice but to not talk much, and leave the bed before dawn.

This short tale will have readers quickly jumping into the deep end of danger and sex. Noelle and Kane are seemingly opposites, but make it work in the end. Nearly every romance trope is used, including the ending, unfortunately they are not used in a new way - some of them hit within sentences of each other. The depth of emotion Kane feels for her is not supported by their previous encounter--a one-night stand with no talking involved. It will require a giant leap of logic for readers to believe how the two of them feel about each other. She is an intelligent woman - a doctor - yet questions everything he says about being undercover and lays an inordinate amount of unwarranted distrust and blame on his shoulders. He is starry-eyed, moony, and squishy, when an undercover FBI agent should be more in charge and powerful. This is a fast-paced, hot read.
