SUSPENSE/THRILLER:  Rennie is running away from a powerful, abusive uncle and a power-brokered wedding to a man that she does not love.  She seizes the opportunity to disappear while at an author’s convention when she literally runs into a biker named Stoke.  She puts her body and heart into his hands when she takes him up on his offer to drive her cross-country.  For his part, Stoke is fascinated by the beautiful and sweetly innocent Rennie.  He follows his heart against all common sense, and puts himself between her and danger.

“Way Down We Go” is a delightful bit of escapist literature that keeps the reader entertained from the first page to the last.  What the story lacks in originality, it more than makes up for in adventure and fun. The story line is predictable, and as a result the story lacks any real dramatic tension.  That being said, the author injects a sense of fun into the story, never taking herself or her characters too seriously.  Both the characters of Rennie and Stokes are the type of people that the reader enjoys getting to know.  The story line is well paced with a well-timed arc.  The writing is well done and engaging for the reader.

“Way Down We Go” is a great read with a story that engages the reader from the first page to the last, and a book that would be a welcome addition to any romance library.
