Maria Del Voscova is a powerful witch, chosen to become a member of the elite Guardians. While she wants to be a Guardian at all costs, it also comes with a risk: if anyone finds out the truth about her messed-up family, the consequences will be dire.

Mar knows that, above all, she has to stay away from Neeren, King of the Parthen, and a man with a darkness in him that only she can see. Yet, when Mar is kidnapped by the enemy that has been haunting her for most of her life, it is Neeren who comes to her rescue. Can Mar trust him, even when her life is at risk?

“Magic Born” is the second book in a series, and without reading the first book, the reader will feel as if they are missing part of the plot. Even if it could be read as a stand-alone, it no doubt works better as part of a series. The romance is pretty standard – sexy Alpha male who is tormented by his dark side, and a sassy heroine haunted by her dark past. Still, fans of paranormal romance probably will not mind the “standard” set-up, since it is executed rather well. The book also has a few errors here and there, but nothing major, and nothing that diverts from the plot.  The plot is fast-paced, jumps from one action sequence to the other at dazzling speed, and a few twists and turns as well.
