Heart of Fire (Alice Worth #2)

Genre:
Paranormal

Alice Worth is a supernatural private investigator with a past—one she would sometimes prefer to forget. There are other ways of forgetting the past and in Alice's case it is whisky.. However, the alcohol has to be put to the side—kind of—when prostitutes start going missing in her city. The police think little of it until the local vampire council and local werewolf pack get involved after several of their own go missing. Soon Alice finds herself working with her former boss, a handsome federal agent, and her ex-boyfriend Sean Maclin. Great!

But the more people who go missing, with little physical evidence, the more Alice wonders…has her past returned to hurt her? If so, how can she stop the blood mages?

A nice mystery wrapped up in suspense and a few hotties to top it off! A perfect way to describe “Heart of Fire”—a paranormal romance with a set of characters that pull the reader into the story. The main character alone, Alice, is a tomboy with some rough edges and a big heart. Not to mention, a love triangle that keeps one intrigued throughout the story. However, there are a few areas where the story fell short. The writing is sometimes a bit stiff and the author tends to be redundant in description and dialogue. Often, the reader feels like the author was simply listing every action and behavior versus describing it. Still, “Heart of Fire” has a cast of characters and a plot that makes the book worth the read!
