Becka Clemmons likes to immerse herself in running her family café, anything to distract herself from the recurring dreams about drowning in the ocean. Her eccentric mother is always pushing for her to settle down, but Becka prefers to stay independent and unattached. Jonathan Parker is a man who grew up knowing he was different and knowing what he wants. When Becka sees Jonathan for the first time, the connection is undeniable and so strong, she faints. Jonathan swears they are star-crossed lovers from another life, destined to be together, but Becka has a hard time believing in such things. When a horrible accident shakes up their world, Becka is forced out of her comfort zone and determined to find answers, and unable to deny her feelings for Jonathan.

A story about soulmates and destiny, this book has all the emotions. Becka and Jonathan are both very likable characters who many can relate to. The plot is unique and inspiring as the two search for answers about a past they both only have glimpses of, yet their connection is undeniable. The flow of the story is on point, as are the side conflicts with secondary characters. There are a few details in the book that do not seem to have clear explanations that a reader would like to know, but they don’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the story. Any reader who believes in destiny and true love will enjoy this refreshing tale of two souls seeking their other half and overcoming circumstances.
